Class on Wednesday has already been enlightening. When I was in my practicum class on Thursday I noticed my mentor teacher had used the counting method as a way to demonstrate how a problem could be done. I enjoyed learning about how children figure out solutions to problems. I can see how we as teachers could mess that up easily and I can even find myself showing the students how to do the problem the "right way" instead of asking them how they do it or having them show me. It is a hard habit to break and something I will have to work on continuously.
